About Asiago
Asiago is an independent guide to the food cultures of Asia. Our starting point is simple: "Asian food" is one of the least useful phrases in cooking. From the plov of Tashkent to the laksa of Penang, the continent holds dozens of distinct cuisines shaped by climate, trade, religion and history.
What we write
We write about how and why people eat what they eat: staple ingredients, techniques, meal times, street food, drinks and table customs. We're more interested in helping you understand a cuisine than in ranking restaurants.
What we don't do
We don't publish sponsored reviews or accept free meals in exchange for coverage. We don't claim any dish is "authentic" in a single correct form — recipes vary between families, cities and generations.
Allergies
Our dietary information is general. If you have a serious allergy, always confirm ingredients with the cook.
